Thanks for the response, Jon. Funny -- I was just working on Part 2 of this post, and observing that many of the features on MojoPages.com would be more viral -- I believe -- if pursued more strongly within your Facebook app. But I'm biased, of course. :) I don't pretend that Loladex has solved the traction problem, by any means. I wish. But Facebook addresses so many of the logistics here that it can't be dismissed as a fertile environment in which to operate. We just need to figure out the *how*. Would love to get together & swap notes.

Hello Laurence,
Touché, well spoken. I do agree with most of your points in theory, however in real life it is extremely difficult to get people to ask friends for recommendations. Here at MojoPages we've played with some of those concepts for a while now. We have an "Ask Friends" tool and we display businesses reviewed from your friends first in the results. To my dismay non of these "friends recommendations" features really increased usage or viralness on the site. Granted the feature sets could be improved and are still in a beta but overall it has been challenging. I wish you success in your venture, perhaps down the road we can partner together to increase our individual traction in the challenging local search space.
