Dan,

I agree. It's great to see the DC area's tech companies working to fuel the community. Case in point: I noticed that you've added a sidebar on your blog to bring attention to other DC area startups - great idea. I think we'll do the same on our CollectiveX blog. Maybe it will catch on... it helps us all. Until we have a local equivalent of Techcrunch - we need to promote each other. Keep up the good work with Loladex.

Regards,
Clarence

Sorry I missed TechCocktail 2... I did make the 1st one and had a great time. Had a blast at Social Dev Camp last weekend. I agree that we do have a burgeoning DC/VA (even Baltimore) tech community. I think that it will be important for local companies to try to find ways of working together to try to increase the success and visibility of all area companies.

I enjoyed myself at TechCocktail DC and found the people, conversations and various realms of activity people were involved in quite intriguing. One of the most interesting new ventures I learned of was mapufacture.com, created by Andrew Turner.

BTW, I really like Loladex; I use it; and I encourage my friends in Facebook to use it, too.

Rock on.
